Frequently Asked Questions

What is neurodivergence?

"When a person’s neurology differs from the neurological 'majority'; these differences include autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder/condition, dyslexia, and dyspraxia (Azevedo et al., 2022). Neurodivergent conditions are frequently centered around diagnoses fitting a narrow set of presentations or behaviors, but they are not solely dependent on the presence of a diagnosis (Elsherif et al., 2022). Neurodivergent individuals are often stigmatized, devalued, and objectified. No universal agreement on the classification of neurodivergence currently exists (Ne’eman & Pellicano, 2022)." -American Psychological Association
